Who we are

Our Identity & Legacy


Established in 1975 and officially affiliated with FIDE in 1978, the Nigeria Chess Federation (NCF) is the recognized national body for chess in Nigeria, operating from Lagos.


We serve as the custodian of chess standards, ensuring that all organized chess within Nigeria aligns with global norms.

Vision

To establish Nigeria as a globally recognized chess powerhouse, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a love for the game among diverse populations.

Mission

To promote chess as a strategic tool for education, personal development, and national pride through comprehensive programs, facilities, and platforms that cater to all age groups and skill levels, ensuring participation from all stakeholders and regions of Nigeria.
